Recently Revised Policies
Policy 6.304 – Bullying – Public Chapter 251 requires that Board policies now include cyber bullying in the list of prohibited acts. I believe this will be challenged in court by the ACLU. They are just waiting for the right case.
Policy 4.603 – Promotion – State law now prohibits “social promotion” of third graders. This is going to be an expensive item for school systems, and I expect there will be some push back year after next.
Policy 5.202 – Separation Practices for Classified Employees – State law now makes classified employees “at will” employees. Board policy is required, but there is nothing as to the content of that policy.
Policy 5.109 – Evaluation – Reflects the recent changes made by the State Board of Education.
Policy 6.202 – Home School – State law has revised (extensively) the nature of Home Schools. This policy reflects those changes.
Policy 5.117 - Procedures for Granting Tenure - This policy has been amended to conform to current law.
