David Baker
At-Large Member

David Baker, a resident of Savannah, has been a member of the Hardin County Board of Education since 2006. David has achieved Level II in the TSBA Boardsmanship Program, and he serves as the Southwest District FRN Coordinator. He served as Director of Youth Leadership in Hardin County from 1997-2005.  David holds a B.A. degree from Freed Hardeman University and a M.A. degree from David Lipscomb University. He was a minister at Savannah Church of Christ for 21 years and is currently the Business Development Officer at Central Bank Savannah. He and his wife, Mitzi, have three children.

 


   

Jeffrey T. Wilson
At-Large Member

Jeff Wilson has been a member of the Hamilton County Board of Education since 2005. In 2005-06, he served as Chairman of the Transportation Committee, and he was the Board’s Vice-Chairman in 2006-07. Jeffrey has achieved Level II in the TSBA Boardsmanship Program. In addition to his work on the school board, Jeffrey serves on the Boards of Directors for the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera, United Way of Grater Chattanooga, Community Impact Inc., the Bessie Smith Cultural Center, YMCA, and Bible in Schools. He is the Chairman of the Hamilton County Democratic Party and the Vice President of 100 Black Men of Chattanooga. He is a life member of the NAACP and a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. Jeffrey holds a B.A. Degree from the University of Memphis, and he is the pastor of New United M. B. Church. He and his wife, Yolanda, have one son.


 

Mary McKnight Wade
At-Large Member

Mary Wade has been a member of the Murfreesboro City Schools Board of Education since 1998 and has served as the Board’s Chairperson since 2008. She is a TSBA Ambassador, and she achieved Master Ambassador status and the Level V/Master Board Member distinction in 2009. Mary’s activities include service on the Read to Succeed, Tennessee Rehabilitation, and P-16 Executive Boards and the Patterson Park Study Committee. She has been President of the Tennessee Insurance Professionals, Vice President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., a member of the Mayor’s Task Force, and a member of the BEP Executive Board. Mary received her higher education at Middle Tennessee State University and is a claim representative at the State Farm Auto Claim Center. She and her husband, Goldy, have three children and seven grandchildren.

 

   

Jerry Pendergrass
At-Large Member/TLN Chairperson

Jerry Pendergrass has served on the Lincoln County Board of Education since 1990 and has served as Chairman since 1992. He is a Level V/Master Board Member an dhas ben on the TLN Board since 2005. Jerry served on a Lincoln County Schools Task Force to study changes from traditional school structure to a K-8, ninth grade academy, 10-12 high school configuration. He is a graduate of Draugn’s Technical College and has owned and operated Pendergrass Supply & Rentals since 1967. Jerry and his wife, Jane, have two children and two grandchildren.
