| Tennessee Association of School Communicators
Tennessee public schools are learning that promotion is one of the
key elements in establishing successful community relations and gaining
strong parent and community support. This is a tough assignment amid
growing demands for fewer taxes and more accountability. It requires
the experience of a public relations practitioner who can focus these
efforts in the right direction.
TASC can offer school public relations practitioners a network
of professionals sharing common goals and concerns. Annual workshops
provide opportunities to share successful projects and bright ideas.
A statewide directory offers consultation from fellow peers who
are just a phone call away. And most importantly, the statewide
organization serves as a vital link to a nationwide network of peers
through NSPRA (National School Public Relations Association).
There are two types of membership: Professional and Institutional.
Professional (Individual) members are persons who are primarily
responsible for the public relations/communications function within
the school district. Members may/may not be members of the National
School Public Relations Association. Annual dues are $25 for members
of NSPRA and $50 for members who are interested only in TASC membership.
Institutional (Group) membership allows school districts to become
members of TASC. This includes three persons, chosen by the school
district, for $100. One of the members must be the district's primary
public relations/communications contact, but others can include
school board members, the superintendent, principals or any other
school district employee.
Dues may be sent to:
