School of the Year Award
Annually, TSBA recognizes architectural firms for their excellence in design. In accordance with TSBA’s policy, any school building that was or will be occupied before November 1 of the current year or three years prior to November 1 of the current year is eligible for the award. School of the year awards are granted in five categories including new school construction of elementary, middle, and high schools, renovation and the People’s Choice award, which is selected by the attendees to the exhibit hall during convention. Winners of the the School of the Year Award will be announced on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at the Closing General Session.

School architects must receive approval from the local board of education and submit an entry form with the appropriate fee. The 2007 fee is $175 per entry. TSBA Business Affiliates pay a reduced fee of $160. Nominations/Entry Forms must be received by October 15. Awards are presented to both the architectural firm and to the local board. System Banners
We are asking each school board to create a decorative banner that illustrates student achievement, and that goes along with our convention theme, "Successful Students: Endless Possibilities." This will be a wonderful opportunity to showcase the talent of students in your system as well as your accomplishments. The banners will be on display during the entire convention. Show your pride!
We are setting aside Monday, Nov. 12, of the convention as a day for boards to show their school system pride. If your board has matching shirts, please wear them on Monday.

Attire
Casual dress is appropriate for all events except the convention awards banquet, for which Sunday dress is appropriate.
