The Leadership Conference exists to provide local board chairmen with the necessary tools to work effectively with the superintendent, other members of the board, the local funding agency and the public and to increase student achievement.

Description:

The TSBA Leadership Conference is designed to help chairmen and superintendents improve their leadership skills as they work with local funding agencies and handle controversial issues. We hope that your leadership team will join us as we explore ways to lead our school systems in improving student achievement.

Attendance at both days of a two-day event is required to receive one day of credit.

Facilitator:

Dr. Tammy Grissom is the Executive Director of the Tennessee School Boards Association. She has been with TSBA for 17 years, most recently serving as the Associate Executive Director. She oversees the day-to-day operations of the association. She serves as the liaison to the State Department's School Board Academy Advisory Board. She has also served as an adjunct professor at Nashville State Technical Institute. Tammy has a bachelor's degree and teaching certificate in Business Education from Belmont College and a master's degree as well as her doctorate in Education Administration and Supervision from Tennessee State University.
