Ambassador Program

Are you tired of hearing negative, unsubstantiated and uninformed comments about public schools?

The TSBA Ambassador Program, a community outreach effort, will provide an opportunity for school board members in Tennessee to increase public awareness and understanding of current public education issues facing our communities, state and nation.

TSBA Ambassadors will speak to local Chambers of Commerce, Rotaries, parent-teacher groups, churches and other organizations about public education and the issues facing their local schools. Ambassadors will also get their message out via the local media, through television talk shows, community radio programs and meetings with newspaper editorial boards.

To be selected as a TSBA Ambassador, interested board members must complete an application, be appointed by the TSBA President and agree to attend a mandatory one-day training session in Nashville where they will be provided with presentation tips and materials and trained to effectively establish speaking engagements. Ambassador terms will be for one year and may be renewed and, of course, TSBA Boardsmanship points will be awarded to those selected.

Let's do something to spread the good news about our schools and our students. Together, county by county and city by city, we can make a difference!
